Facts About Nüwa
Did you know that Nüwa Textiles is one of the largest weaving mills in the world? We have over 1,300 weaving looms that produce over 20 million yards a month. That length of fabric could wrap around the Earth five and one-half times!
The weaving looms are mostly water-jet machines. That means the long warp (vertical running) yarn has the weft (horizontal running) yarn driven across its width by a powerful pulse of water. 1,300 machines operating around the clock use a lot of water. We recycle 70% of all the water we use, which amounts to 2,500 TONS of water saved daily. In a normal work year that's almost 29 million gallons of water. That's enough water to fill over 48 Olympic size swimming pools!
In one of our dyeing and finishing plants, we use 101 liters of water per kilogram of fabric dyed compared to an industry best standards mark of 150 liters. Over the course of a year, if we could use this plant for all of our production, we could supply enough water to power Niagara Falls for a full 22 minutes. Total water saved would be 766,665,995 gallons!
We are known for our work in recycled polyester. By simply choosing recycled over virgin fiber, there is up to a 77% reduction in CO2 and an 84% decrease in energy usage.
We believe in third-party certifications because they provide an impartial evaluation. Some we hold:

Did you know we have been making quality textiles for almost 50 years? We started back in 1960.
